Group Therapy
Group therapy is often the treatment of choice for people who experience troubled relationships, loneliness, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and low self-esteem. People who participate in group therapy have the opportunity to benefit from sharing personal experiences, giving and receiving supportive/constructive feedback, and experimenting with new interpersonal behaviors.
EMDR Therapy
EMDR is a well-established, evidence-based therapy that helps individuals process and resolve traumatic memories and negative thought patterns. Mia has extensive EMDR training and enjoys working with people dealing with past or recent trauma. She also works with issues that tend to be consequences of trauma, including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, addiction, dissociation, and traits common to personality disorders.
Individual Therapy

Family Therapy
Our stories of struggle, sorrow, and suffering are also our stories of strength, resilience, and adaptation. Families carry ancestral legacies and continue their lineage through their progeny. Divorce, adoption, war, immigration, death, addiction, secrets, and illness are some of the stressors families endure across time. Family therapy provides a space to tell the family story. To discover, share, and listen to what we have learned and gained from our experience of loss and struggle.
Couples Therapy
Relationships are central to our core being. Couples are impacted by sociocultural stressors such as gender, cultural/racial background, education, power inequities, and finances. Each person brings family of origin experiences and wounds into the relationship which influences ways of relating. Learning about interpersonal neurobiology and relational ethics also helps couples build closeness and open communication.
Consultation and Supervision
Mia provides supervision for provisionally licensed therapists (PLPCs). She also provides consultation for therapists interested in promoting cultural sensitivity in their practice. Read more about her services in this area here.
